Man fatally shot in Humboldt Park

He was discovered about 2:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of North Lawndale Avenue, police said.

A man was fatally shot on the Northwest Side Sunday.

A man was fatally shot Sunday morning in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

The 27-year-old was discovered about 2:30 a.m. unresponsive and laying on a sidewalk in the 1000 block of North Lawndale Avenue, Chicago police said.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The man was identified as Norman Hicks, who lived in the neighborhood, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

No one was in custody.
