Three people were arrested after a man was shot and killed Wednesday night on the West Side.
The 32-year-old was standing outside in the 5100 block of West West End Avenue when the three approached him about 10 p.m., Chicago police said.
One of them, a female, pulled out a handgun and shot him in the leg, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:03 a.m. Thursday, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
The man was identified as Brandon Porter, the medical examiner’s office said. An autopsy found he died of a gunshot wound to his thigh and ruled his death a homicide.
Responding officers saw the three walking in the 5000 block of West Monroe Street and placed them into custody, according to police.
A weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
No charges have been announced.
