Man fatally shot in Gresham

He was in the street about 3:55 p.m. in the 8300 block of South Elizabeth Street when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police said.

A man was killed in a shooting Monday in Gresham on the South Side.

Jamie Davis was in the street about 3:55 p.m. in the 8300 block of South Elizabeth Street when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The 29-year-old was struck multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, officials said. An autopsy ruled his death a homicide.

No one was in custody. Area Two detectives are investigating.
