An 18-year-old man was shot to death Friday afternoon in Lawndale on the West Side.

Maurice D. Morris Jr. was on the sidewalk about 4:30 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Arthington Avenue when someone fired shots, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

He was shot in the head and neck and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died, police said.

Area Four detectives were investigating.
