Boy, 14, fatally shot in North Lawndale

A person who was fatally shot late Tuesday night in North Lawndale on the West Side has been identified as a 14-year-old boy.

Around 11:50 p.m., Lashon Douglas was found lying on a sidewalk with gunshot wounds to his chest and body in the 3500 block of West Cermak Road, Chicago police said.

Douglas, of the same block where he was shot, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead Wednesday at 12:07 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Area Four detectives are investigating and no one was in custody.
