A 21-year-old man appears to have shot himself in the left ankle Tuesday evening in the South Side Chatham neighborhood.
The man told police a dark-colored Audi drove up about 5:28 p.m. in the 7900 block of South Greenwood and someone inside shot his left ankle, according to Chicago Police. But police said his wound is consistent with a self-inflicted wound.
The 21-year-old was taken to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, police said.
