(ST. CHARLES) An Aurora man was sentenced to five years in prison after he pleaded guilty Friday to sexually abusing a teen.
Ubaldo Santiago, 32, pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse in exchange for the sentence, the Kane County state’s attorney’s office said. Judge Clint Hull accepted the plea.
In September 2013, Santiago had sexual contact with an acquaintance who was younger than 17, prosecutors said. The teen told a relative, who called police.
Santiago, of the 800 block of Wood Street in Aurora, acknowledged what he had done when he was questioned, authorities said.
He was given credit for 418 days spent in jail since his arrest and must register for life as a sex offender, the state’s attorney’s office said.
