Bond was set at $100,000 Thursday for a man accused of severely beating another man late Tuesday in the Loop.
Stanley Riley, 55, faces two counts of aggravated battery for the 9 p.m. attack in the 200 block of South State, according to Chicago Police.
Riley struck a 50-year-old man who had to be taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition with head and face injures, police said.
Riley, of the first block of North Lorel, was identified by the victim and a witness, police said.
A judge ordered Riley held on a $100,000 bond Thursday, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. He is due back in court Monday.
