Two teenagers have been charged with robbing a man using a fake handgun Sunday night in Lake View, less than a mile from Wrigley Field.
The 17-year-old boy and 14-year-old girl each face one felony count of armed robbery, according to Chicago Police. Their names were not released because they are juveniles.
A 48-year-old man was walking on the sidewalk in the 500 block of West Addison about 11:45 p.m. when he was approached by the teens, police said. The boy pulled out a replica handgun, and they took the man’s cash and cellphone.
Officers who responded to the robbery found the suspects in the 3700 block of North Pine Grove, police said. The victim identified them as the robbers.
The man’s cellphone and money were recovered, along with the fake handgun, police said.
The robbery happened less than a mile from Wrigley Field, where the Cubs will play their home opener Monday night.
