Burglary attempt reported at residence in Elmhurst

Police are investigating an attempted residential burglary that was reported Tuesday in west suburban Elmhurst.

The attempted burglary happened at 11:30 a.m. in the 200 block of North Clinton Avenue, a statement from Elmhurst police said.

The suspect tried to enter the back of the home by kicking the door. He fled the area by walking quickly northbound on Clinton Avenue towards North Avenue. He is described as a white man with a medium build, who was wearing a red hoodie and a ball cap, police said.
