PHOENIX — An Illinois man has been convicted in the 2012 baseball bat killing of his ex-wife’s boyfriend in Arizona.
Maricopa County prosecutors say 31-year-old David Gerald Walker was found guilty Monday of second-degree murder, kidnapping, tampering with physical evidence, disorderly conduct and marijuana possession.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced April 17.
Authorities say Walker flew from Chicago to Phoenix and went to his ex-wife’s home on Oct. 11, 2012.
They say Walker broke into the house through a back door and found a baseball bat in the garage.
He then went to the bedroom where his ex-wife and 29-year-old Adam Moring were sleeping.
Prosecutors say Walker struck Moring multiple times in the head with the bat.
They say Walker drove his ex-wife and their two children to Tempe before his arrest.
