An extra-alarm fire that tore through an Irving Park neighborhood grocery on the Northwest Side early Monday is being investigated for arson.
Crews responded at 3:39 a.m. to the blaze at Windy City Produce at 3340 N. Pulaski, fire officials said.
About 100 firefighters were called to the scene as it was elevated to a 2-11 fire, causing extensive damage throughout the building before it was extinguished about 5:30 a.m., officials said. No one was injured.
The cause was unknown Monday morning as the police Bomb and Arson Unit investigates, authorities said.
