Police are warning about a group of men who robbed people in two separate incidents in the Humboldt Park neighborhood.
In both robberies the group approached a victim and asks “if he gang-bangs” according to a statement from Shakespeare District Police.
One robbery happened about 10:55 p.m. July 29 in the 1500 block of North California, police said. A second robbery happened at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 6 in the 3400 West Beach.
The robbers displayed a handgun in one instance, police said. In the July 29 robbery, one of the suspects covered the victim’s mouth with his hand and demanded his cell phone.
Three of the suspects are described as black males between 17 and 20 years old, between 5-foot-8 and 6-foot-2, weighing between 110 and 200 pounds, police said. One of the suspects was wearing his hair in dreadlocks.
The fourth suspect is described as a Hispanic man between 20 and 25, between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-11 and 165 and 200 pounds, police said.
