A man has been charged with shooting a gun at two homes Saturday in northwest suburban Elgin.
Eric Juarez, 18, of the 100 block of West Blair Street in West Chicago, was charged with two felony counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm, one felony count of possession of a firearm without a FOIA card and three felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, according to a statement from Elgin police.
Officers were in the 400 block of Douglas Avenue about 11:57 p.m. Saturday when they heard multiple gunshots and saw Juarez running from the area, police said. After a foot chase, the officers arrested him in the area of Plum and Center Street.
Detectives investigating the incident found a handgun where Juarez was seen running away and also discovered two homes that had been struck by bullets in the 200 block of Seneca Street, police said.
He is scheduled to appear in bond court Monday morning, police said.
