Man critically wounded in Austin shooting

A man was critically wounded in a Austin neighborhood shooting on the West Side Sunday night.

A 22-year-old man was near the 200 block of North Laramie Avenue at about 7:40 p.m. when someone approached on foot and shot him, police said.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said.

He is a documented gang member, police said.
