A South Side man died Friday, nearly three months after he was injured in an assault in the North Lawndale neighborhood.
Antonio Valentine, 34, was hit in the face and head about 11:45 p.m. Aug. 1 in the 1900 block of South Kildare, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
He suffered swelling to the side of the face and head, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Valentine, of the 6000 block of South Winchester, had been in hospice care when he died Oct. 31 at 4:18 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said.
An autopsy Wednesday found he died of complications from multiple injuries from an assault and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
No one is in custody as Area Central detectives investigate.
