43-year-old man charged with robbing Elmhurst gas station

A 43-year-old man has been charged with robbing a gas station Wednesday in west suburban Elmhurst.
Joseph A. Pulido, of Elmhurst, was charged with felony theft, attempt robbery and theft of services, according to Elmhurst police.
At 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, a white man in his 40s wearing a White Sox jacket entered the Shell gas station at 103 W. Third St. and demanded money from the cashier, police said. He took cash and ran away.
A short time later, Pulido was taken into custody in the 900 block of Hillcrest Avenue, police said. He still had the proceeds of the robbery.
An investigation revealed the he also unsuccessfully attempted to rob the 7-Eleven at 572 S. York Rd. earlier Wednesday, implying he had a gun, police said.
