Man robs Loop bank

A First Merit Bank branch was robbed Friday afternoon in the Loop.

The bank at 222 N. LaSalle St. was robbed about 12:10 p.m., according to the FBI.

The robber is described as a 230-pound black man, in his 40s to 50s, standing between 5-feet-11 and 6-feet-1, the FBI said. He was wearing a gray, flat-bill hat, a blue button-down shirt and black pants.

He did not show a weapon and no one was injured, the FBI said.
