Bond was set at $800,000 Thursday for a man charged with shooting another man after he was denied entry into a Chatham club on the South Side.
Rudy J. Williams, 34, faces one count of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, both felonies, according to Chicago Police.
About 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, Williams and another man got into an argument with a 29-year-old man after they were barred from the club in the 1100 block of East 87th Street, police said.
Williams left, but returned with a handgun and shot the 29-year-old in the wrist, according to police.
The victim was taken in good condition to Advocate Trinity Hospital.
Williams, of the 8700 block of South Aberdeen, was arrested after a short foot chase, and a weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.
A second person was questioned but released without charges.
A judge ordered Williams held on an $800,000 bond at a Thursday hearing, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office. He is due back in court Wednesday
