A man was shot Thursday evening in the West Pullman neighborhood on the Far South Side.

The 41-year-old was standing in front of a home in the 11500 block of South Sangamon at 7:23 p.m. when someone shot him, according to Chicago Police.

He suffered gunshot wounds to the head and back and was taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

Before that, Chicago went nearly 20 hours between Wednesday night and Thursday evening without a person shot.
