Man shot on Southwest Side

A man was shot Monday afternoon on the Southwest Side.

The shooting happened in the 3800 block of South Archer about 2:45 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.

Two male suspects approached the victim and opened fire, Zala said. The 28-year-old was shot in the hip and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition stabilized.

The suspects ran away and were not in custody Monday afternoon, police said.

Police would not confirm reports that the shooting happened at the McDonald’s restaurant at 3867 S. Archer.
