A man was shot to death Wednesday morning in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.
Gerwancy Rambus, 40, was sitting in a vehicle in the 1100 block of South Richmond at 11:27 a.m. when someone approached and fired shots, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Rambus was shot multiple times in the chest, and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:43 a.m., authorities said. He lived about two blocks away in the 1100 block of South Mozart.
A police source said he was a documented gang member.
