Man walks into hospital after Heart of Chicago shooting

A 22-year-old man was hurt in a Heart of Chicago neighborhood shooting early Saturday on the South Side.

He walked into Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the back about 1 a.m., according to Chicago Police.

The man told investigators he was wounded in the 1800 block of South Damen. Police think the shooting was gang-related.

He was treated and released.

Half an hour later, a man was shot to death by CPD officers about five blocks from the site of that attack.
