Three burglaries in November and December in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side have prompted an alert from police.
According to the alert, the three burglaries happened in the:
- 5300 block of West Jackson Boulevard on Nov. 11 between 7:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.;
- 5500 block of West Jackson Boulevard on Nov. 30 between 4:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.; and
- 5500 block of West Jackson Boulevard on Dec. 2 at 5:30 p.m.
In each incident, at least one robber forced their way into the residence by kicking in or prying open the door and then stealing property, the alert said.
Three robbers were seen in one of the thefts in the 5500 block of West Jackson Boulevard. They are described as two black males and one black female, 13-18 years of age, standing 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-8 and weighing 110-150 pounds, the alert said.
Police ask residents to lock their doors and windows and to contact Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263 with any information.
