A man is in custody after a robbery was reported at a TCF Bank branch on Wednesday in northwest suburban Schaumburg.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., FBI agents were headed to the bank branch located inside a Jewel grocery store at 2507 W. Schaumburg Rd., according to FBI spokesman Garrett Croon. No weapon was shown during the robbery.

Croon said a suspect was in custody, but additional information was not immediately available.

The man who robbed the bank, thought to be in his 40s, was wearing a black, red and white knit hat with “Chicago” printed on it, the FBI said. He also wore a plaid scarf, brown leather jacket and thick white gloves.

The same man was believed to be responsible for the robbery of a TCF Bank branch at 1500 Lee St. in Des Plaines the day before, the FBI said.
