(LIBERTYVILLE) A caregiver is charged with identity theft for allegedly stealing $2,000 from an elderly patient in northwest suburban Libertyville.
Jocelyn Diaz, 20, is charged with unlawful use of a debit card, theft and identity theft, Libertyville police said in a statement.
The elderly victim’s son went to Libertyville police in late June, after noticing $2,000 worth of questionable bank transactions within a month-long period, police said.
Diaz, of the 1100 block of Victoria Avenue in North Chicago, was arrested last Thursday and ordered held on a $10,000 bond, police said.
