Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a woman Sunday evening in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side.

The 37-year-old woman was walking to the store in the 4300 block of South Sacramento about 8:30 p.m. when she was approached by a male driving a black Pontiac, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The male engaged the woman in conversation, exited his vehicle, held a cloth her face and then sexually assaulted her, police said. The woman fell unconscious and awoke in the suspect’s car.

He then pointed a gun at her and told her to leave, police said.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, about 40 years old, with diamond stud earrings in each ear, police said.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
