Police are warning of an attempted kidnapping Wednesday afternoon in the Irving Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.
About 4:30 p.m., the male suspect approached a child who was walking home through an alley near the intersection of Lawndale Avenue and Grace Street, according to an alert from Chicago Police. After showing the child explicit images on his cellphone, the victim walked away and told an adult, who called police.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, thought to be in his late teens or early 20s, police said. He was seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants and light-colored Nike shoes.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Area North detectives (312) 744-8261.
