A man armed with a handgun tried to rob a Logan Square bank Friday morning on the Northwest Side but ended up robbing a bank employee instead.
It happened around 7:45 a.m. The man tried to get inside the Wintrust Bank branch at 2814 W. Fullerton to rob the bank, but it wasn’t open yet, according to the FBI and Chicago Police.
So he instead robbed a bank employee and ran away, police said.
