A south suburban man was arrested Tuesday in Oak Lawn after police found him with marijuana and a stolen wallet.
David M. Cornwell-Adams, 25, was walking in the 11000 block of South Cicero Avenue about 6 p.m. when police saw him carrying a woman’s wallet and looking “very nervous,” police said.
As an officer went to speak to him, Cornwell-Adams ran and was later found hiding under a bush in the 10900 block of South Keating, police said.
Authorities recovered the wallet and contacted the owner, who said it had been stolen from her unlocked car near her home in Worth, police said.
Cornwell-Adams was also found to have other items not belonging to him, police said.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, theft or control of stolen property, and obstructing a peace officer, police said.
Cornwell-Adams of the 11700 block of South Ridgeland in Worth was ordered held on a $10,000 bond Wednesday at the Bridgeview courthouse.
