Police are cautioning people who use websites such as Craigslist to set up in-person transactions after three robberies earlier this month in Austin on the West Side.
People answering online ads to buy electronics have been met by two men who then steal their property, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.
The first robbery happened about 6 p.m. on July 2 in the 5200 block of West Ohio. The others happened about 3:30 p.m. on July 6, and then about 6:45 pm. on July 10. Both of those happened in the 5200 block of West Race, police said.
Police do not have a detailed description of the suspected robbers. Anyone with information should call detectives at (312) 744-8263.
