Police warn of armed carjackings on NW Side

Police are warning residents of three recent carjackings in the Northwest Side neighborhoods of Albany Park, Portage Park and Jefferson Park.

In each incident, someone approached the victim, displayed a handgun and took the victim’s vehicle, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The most recent carjacking happened at 9:18 p.m. April 20 in the 5600 block of West Waveland, police said. Two more carjackings happened April 18, one at 3:35 a.m. in the 3600 block of West Argyle and the other at 6 p.m. in the 5900 block of West Higgins.
