Police warn of armed robberies in Belmont Cragin, Hermosa

Chicago Police are warning residents of armed robberies over the last two days in the Belmont Cragin and Hermosa neighborhoods on the Northwest Side.

The robberies occurred:

  • at 5:45 a.m. April 8 in the 3100 block of North Parkside Avenue;
  • at 3:45 a.m. April 9 in the 5100 block of West Wolfram Street;
  • at 4:50 am. April 9 in the 2100 block of North Kildare Avenue; and
  • at 5 a.m. April 9 in the 2500 block of North Central Avenue.

One or more suspect approached people on the street, pulled out a gun and demanded their property, according to a community alert from police.

One suspect is described as a 6-foot, 200-250 pound black man, between 30 to 40 years old with a physical impairment on his face, police said. Another suspect is described as a 5-foot-6 Hispanic man, between 30 to 40 years old.
