Chicago Police are warning residents of armed business robberies in the Irving Park and North Park neighborhoods on the Northwest Side.
In all three incidents, two to three males armed with handguns entered a convenience store and battered or pistol-whipped the clerk, according to a community alert from police. The males then stole items from the store and cash from the register before running away.
The robberies happened:
- about 12:09 a.m. March 3 in the 3400 block of West Irving Park Road;
- about 11:19 a.m. March 23 in the 5600 block of North Kimball Avenue;
- and about 1:15 a.m. March 24 in the 4300 block of North Kimball Avenue.
The robbers are described as two-to-three white or Hispanic males, wearing ski masks, blue or gray long-sleeve shirts or jackets, hoodies, blue or tan jeans and gym shoes, police said. One robber wore distinctive red, white and black gym shoes.
