Police warn of strong-arm robberies in Austin

Police are cautioning residents of the Austin neighborhood on the West Side after three strong-arm robberies have been reported in recent weeks.

According to an alert from Area North detectives, the robberies occurred:
-about 7:05 p.m. March 24 in the 5600 block of West Corcoran;
-about 3:40 p.m. March 25 in the 800 block of North Waller;
-about 10:30 p.m. April 3 in the 5600 block of West West End.

In each robbery, two or three suspects approached a victim and used force, or threatened to use force, to take take their property, police said.

The suspects were described as black males between 15 and 22 years old, each standing between 5-foot-8 to 6-foot-1, police said.
