A Seneca man was charged with home repair fraud Monday in Kendall County.
On Sept. 15, 2015 the deputies responded to a report of home repair fraud in the 13000 block of Lisbon Center Road in Newark, according to a statement from the Kendall County sheriff’s office.
Someone reported paying an alleged contractor $5,200 since March 2014 for miscellaneous repairs to their home, the sheriff’s office said. No materials were ever brought to the residence and the contractor never completed the work.
Steven Ellis was charged with three counts of theft and three counts of home repair fraud, all felonies the sheriff’s office said.
Ellis, 42, is currently in custody in Grundy County Corrections Center on similar but unrelated charges. His bond was set at $15,000 with ten percent to apply.
