Three men have been charged with residential burglary in north suburban Vernon Hills.
Victor Aloush, 46; Rasim Ukoja, 48; and Ernest Walker, 64, were arrested Sept. 8 and charged with one count each of residential burglary in connection to a burglary that occurred in the 1100 block of Port Clinton Road on July 1, according to Vernon Hills police.
On July 2, investigators notified police that they had observed the three men in the area where the burglary occurred, according to the statement. After a two-month investigation, investigators obtained arrest warrants for the three men.
The police have a warrant for a fourth suspect involved in the burglary, but that person is not yet in custody.
“We’re pleased that the task force was able to provide information that aided us in solving this case. This cooperative effort most likely helped prevent other crimes from occurring in Vernon Hills,” Chief of Police Mark Fleischhauer said in the statement.
Aloush, of the 1800 block of Garland Avenue in Highland Park, was released after paying 10 percent of a $100,000 bond. Ukoja, of the 5100 block of Madison Street in Skokie, was released on 10 percent of a $75,000 bond.
Walker, of the 300 block of Memorial Drive in Calumet City, remains in the Lake County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
