Two shot in East Garfield Park

Two men were shot early Sunday in the East Garfield park neighborhood on the West Side.

About 4:05 a.m., the men, ages 28 and 30, were standing outside in the 3300 block of West Walnut when someone walked up and fired shots, police said.

The 28-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

The older man was shot in the left thigh, police said. He was also taken to Mount Sinai, where his condition was stabilized.

A police source said both men are documented gang members.
