Two shot in Logan Square alley

Two men were shot early Sunday in an alley in the Northwest Side Logan Square neighborhood.

The shooting happened in the 2300 block of North Sacramento at 12:45 a.m., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

The men had just gotten out of their vehicle in an alley when a gunman walked up and fired numerous shots before running away, police said.

According to a police report, the men had pulled into the alley to urinate.

A 35-year-old man was shot multiple times in the body and a 23-year-old man was shot in the arm and suffered a graze wound to the eye, police said.

The men drove themselves to Norwegian-American Hospital, where the 23-year-old remains, police said. His condition has stabilized.

The 35-year-old was transferred to Stroger Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.

The police report said both men had gang affiliations.
