Two 17-year-old boys were wounded in separate shootings in the Bronzeville neighborhood Monday, both occurring within a half mile of Chicago Police headquarters.
The first shooting was reported about 6:15 p.m. in the 3700 block of South Wabash, police said. The teen was shot in the leg and abdomen and taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where his condition had stabilized.
The other teen was shot about 7:37 p.m. in the 3800 block of South Michigan, police said. He suffered a gunshot wound to his right leg and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition also stabilized.
Police could not say if the two shootings, which occurred less than two blocks from each other, were connected.
