Acquiring pitching aces Yu Darvish from the Cubs and Blake Snell from the Rays has done wonders for the Padres’ chances of winning the World Series, according to Las Vegas oddsmakers.

The Padres’ odds of winning the Series moved from 12/1 to 7/1, according to SportsBetting.com. The odds for world champion and division rival Dodgers moved from 7/2 to 4/1.

Losing Darvish moved the Cubs to 40/1 from last week’s 25/1 odds. The Rays’ odds now stand at 14/1, falling from 11/1 before the Snell deal.
