The England-based newspaper the Sun reported Thursday that the Cubs-Cardinals series scheduled for June 13-14 in London has been canceled.

Major League Baseball hadn’t made an announcement, but event organizers made the decision because of the coronavirus pandemic.

MLB already has canceled the Mexico Series (Diamondbacks-Padres) and the Puerto Rico Series (Mets-Marlins), which were scheduled for April.

The Cubs and Cardinals were set to become the second set of MLB teams to play in London after the Red Sox and Yankees played there last season.
