Long a staple at Chicago’s Oakwood Beach, Mamby on the Beach summer music festival moves to a new, larger, lakefront location on the North Side for its 2019 incarnation.
React Presents and new partner Jam Productions announced on Thursday that Mamby will move to Montrose Beach (4400 N. Lake Shore Dr.) for its fifth anniversary, citing the need for a larger beachfront footprint to accommodate three stages, more beach-friendly games and interactive activities including silent disco yoga sessions, nutritional and wellness workshops, beach-friendly games, live painting, fire performances, art installations and more.
The annual fest is a showcase for indie, hip-hop, soul, electronica, dance music and more.
Tickets for this year’s fest will go on sale at 10 a.m. June 3. The artists’ lineup will be announced at that time. For complete info visit the fest’s website.
In past years, artists including Common, Jamila Woods, Cupcakke and Cold War Kids have performed at the popular summer music festival.
