Barack Obama shares adorable birthday message to Michelle Obama

Two words: couple goals.

Michelle Obama celebrated her 56th birthday on Friday, so of course, one of the first to honor her on her big day was her hubby Barack Obama.

The former president shared a swoon-worthy black-and-white photo collage of the two of them to Instagram Friday. “In every scene, you are my star, @MichelleObama! Happy birthday, baby!” he captioned his post.

Within an hour, the post had already racked up more than a million likes, but it’s not the first time the couple has awed us with their relationship.

In October, the former first couple swapped celebratory messages on social media to commemorate their 27th wedding anniversary. They married on Oct. 3, 1992.

Barack kept it short it sweet then too, writing “Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time. Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!”

Michelle had a little more to say: “27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure. I’d say he’s delivered,” she wrote on her Instagram post. “Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next—while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack.”

By the looks of this birthday post, the Obamas seem to be handling the empty nester thing pretty well, but there were tears when they dropped their youngest, Sasha, off at college. Michelle shared the story on the “Today” show in December and noted even though there was some water works, they tried to hold it together because Sasha has roommates and they didn’t want to embarrass her.

Still, she perfectly summed up parenting and letting go of growing children.

“I’m excited for my girls to grow up and become independent, but you feel a little melancholy that they will never be the little ones that sit on your lap and listen to your every word and look at you adoringly. Those days are over,” she said.

Michelle had shared a family photo in November that caught some people off guard at how grown the Obama daughters, Malia, 21, and Sasha, 18, looked. The famous daughters entered the White House at ages 10 and 7, respectively.

Happy birthday, Michelle! Maybe Malia and Sasha will pay mom a visit today.
