Thousands of people on Saturday — many dressed as their favorite characters from comic books, video games and film — attended the annual Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo at McCormick Place.

At the event, which celebrates all things popular culture, attendees got an opportunity to visit exhibition booths and meet their favorite comic artists and book authors, as well as attend screenings, a cosplay competition and panel discussions.

C2E2, billed as “the biggest geek party in the Midwest” on the convention’s website, runs through Sunday.
