It’s a good day to be a Star Trek fan. Set your phasers to stun, and get ready to be beamed into an otherworldly experience that only the Star Trek universe can offer.

In 2022, Star Trek’s official convention will return to an in-person event in Star Trek: Mission Chicago, where attendees can enjoy three days of immersive and interactive exhibits and major announcements about the franchise’s future plans.

The convention will be held at McCormick Place from April 8-10, 2022. The Star Trek: Mission Chicago website said information about tickets and celebrity guests will be coming soon.

Fans of all ages can look forward to taking photos with and getting autographs from Star Trek celebrity guests, buying merchandise exclusive to the convention, participating in gameplay, looking at costume exhibits and encountering other “special surprises,” according to the news release.

ReedPop, an international pop culture event producer, is partnering with ViacomCBS Consumer Products to bring the Star Trek franchise to life in the convention.

After its debut in the Windy City, Star Trek: Missions conventions will be held in a new city each year.

Star Trek: Mission Chicago said in a statement that “Mission Chicago” will allow fans to boldly explore the past, present and future of the franchise, while experiencing Star Trek’s values and hopes for a more diverse and inclusive future.
