Actor David Canary, 77, star of ‘All My Children,’ dies

The HollywoodReporter.com is reporting that veteran actor David Canary, who for almost three decades played twin brothers Adam and Stuart Chandler on the ABC soap opera “All My Children,” has died. He was 77.
According to the story, “Canary, who earlier portrayed Candy Canaday, the ranch foreman of the Ponderosa, on the iconic NBC Western Bonanza, died Nov. 16 of natural causes in Wilton, Conn., his family announced.” The actor was a native of Elwood, Ind., near Indianapolis.
Mr. Canary first appeared on “All My Children” as the Chandler brothers in 1984 and received five best actor Emmy Awards and 16 nominations through 2001.
He retired from acting in 2010, though he reprised his role on the soap a year later for series-ending episodes. Mr. Canary is survived by his wife, Maureen; his son Christopher; his daughter Kathryn; one grandson; and his brother John.
