Bob Einstein, featured on ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm,’ dies at 76

Bob Einstein, a comedian, actor and two-time Emmy winner best known for his work on the HBO series “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” has died at 76, his representative confirmed to USA Today.

“Sadly, it is true,” Einstein’s representative Lee Kernis confirmed in an email.

Einstein is probably best known to fans as Marty Funkhouser, creator and star Larry David’s friend, on “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” He also played the character Super Dave Osborne, a smug but hapless stuntman who appeared often on “Late Night With David Letterman” and starred on several series of his own.

Einstein’s brother Albert Brooks took to Twitter to commemorate his brother’s life.

“R.I.P. My dear brother Bob Einstein,” Brooks wrote. “A great brother, father and husband. A brilliantly funny man. You will be missed forever.”

Einstein won two Emmy awards during his career, one for “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour” and one for “Van Dyke and Company.” He was nominated four other times during his lifetime.

He was featured on Jerry Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” in 2017.

Producer John Cohen remembered Einstein as “so (expletive) funny” in a NSFW tweet.
