Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have announced the launch of The River Tour, a nine-week trek across the U.S., which includes a Chicago concert at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19, 2016, at the United Center, 1901 W. Madison.
Reserved seat tickets ($55-$150) and general admission (main floor) tickets ($150) go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 11 at the UC box office and at ticketmaster.com
The tour was announced in conjunction with today’s release of “The Ties That Bind: The River Collection,” a comprehensive look at the 1980 “The River” album. According to the announcement: “Each night of the tour will be mixed for release on Live.BruceSpringsteen.net as high-quality downloads and CDs. Recordings will be available within days of each performance.”
The 24-date tour kicks off Jan. 16, 2016, in Pittsburgh, and concludes March 17, 2016, Los Angeles. Area stops also include St. Paul, Minn., and Milwaukee.
