There’s been a change of plans.

The Goodman Theatre has rescheduled its production of “Wonderful Town,” the musical by Leonard Bernstein and lyricists Betty Comden and Adolph Green that was to be its spring/summer 2016 offering. Instead, the production, to be directed by Mary Zimmerman, will open in the fall of 2016.

This will allow for “additional artistic collaboration,” and while details of this are forthcoming it’s worth noting that the 100th anniversary of Bernstein’s birth will be celebrated in 2018.

Meanwhile, a new project will soon be announced as a replacement. More news about that will be released later today. Stay tuned.
